My Alza Fuel Consumption average at 12.7km/l

Its been a while since I share my Alza fuel consumption performance and I have travel quite a bit.  I have manage to pump Petronas(2x), Caltex(1x) and Shell(3x) since.  During this period I was traveling a fair bit on the highway as well as through the tiny lanes in the City, specifically through Georgetown.  The average fuel consumption inches to 12.7km/l from the previous 12.6km/l report.  It does seams like the car fuel consumption has stabilize around this value as evident on the Moving Average chart below.

I have also found from the MyAlza forum as well as else where on the web, that the Alza Fuel Consumption performance is at 12.7km/l for Automatic Transmission and 15.5km/l for Manual Transmission.  This literary means that my Alza has reach it’s limit.  Its certainly disappointing to find out that the car could not perform better as I have wish since I gave up my City.  Nevertheless, this is the reality and I guess the only thing to do now is to pimp it up a little as suggested by some of the commenter’s.

Is there any question & answer that you find interesting & meaningful to share?

  • Alza user March 30, 2011 at 9:33 am

I am averaging around 13.5km per 1 lt , or 7.4 lt per 100km , or around 14 cent per KM,for the past 2 months (stock standard auto alza), mostly use on country roads / Federal roads at SPS, Penang with occasion visits to George Town. Petrol use ESSO

I do think that individual vehicle fuel consumption is a matter of the driver driving style, patience, road usage and modifications (if any) , as well as the setting of the vehicle by the manufacturer.

Hi, I’m hoping to add the alza to my garage. Currently own a City (not selling this one). What would your honest recommendation be? Is ithe alza really worth the 65k and high interest rates?

    • Kew April 5, 2011 at 4:50 am

      Hi Guna,

Firstly, being a City owner myself, I can say that the Alza is nothing like the City. In many aspect, it perform poorer than City, however, this is an MPV, for this it is worth the money you paid for. By the way, I had a friend who just book the Alza last week, the interest rate is 2.xx%, drop a little from 3.xx% that I paid for. Therefore, I dont think the interest rate is that high now.

I would recommend you to get the car if you are looking for a 7 seater. If not, you are better off looking at other models…

      • Guna April 7, 2011 at 1:48 am

        Kew,
Well said comment :) I’m looking for a the ‘occasional’ 7 seater. I don’t always carry that many ppl, hence my interest in Alza, its the cheapest option out there.
My big problem with Perodua, using a Viva as example, is that P2′s suspension soft, engine noisy, and sound insulation not great.
Have you had any major issues with the Alza so far?

How to tell them for reset engine in perodua?…i also have bad fuel consumption for my alza…auto…is it necessary to reset engine?

    • Kew July 26, 2011 at 4:34 am

I have no experience in this..
