Family Day
There was a family day event at Taiping Garden (my hometown neighborhood) last weekend. It was nice of the local government to sponsor the event. We had games for all ages, from toddlers to senior citizen. Interesting prizes were given away, everyone left with something. There is even a lucky draw. The event started with a flag walk around the central field, then talks from VIP. The first event was the flag run for teenagers. Everyone grab a flag and run… 11 prices going for grab. Then followed by flag relay race for toddlers in the field. After many more games, the event concluded with a free Makan (meal). Not surprisingly, only during the distribution of meal time, suddenly, the whole community appear.. guess they could not wake up early on Sunday Morning….maybe it is typical M’sian culture. At least they came…. This is a yearly event organized by the neighborhood watch group (rukun tertangga). It is something good to bring the neighborhood together and let loose and have fun. It does makes Taiping Garden the place to live in. On the 31st of this month, there will be a flag walk around the whole neighborhood (flags provided) to celebrate our independence day and remember the journey we have taken, and how we are going to proceed into the future. Sadly, I will be in KL during that time, and would not be able to join the event. I will participate in KL on a national level. I-Gizmo : Identity
